Perceptual Interaction in Spatial Vision - This study shows that high- and low-spatial-frequency information interact during perception of natural images through phase alignment, supporting efficient coding by reducing redundancy, whereas disrupting phase relationships through scrambling largely abolishes these interactions and promotes more independent processing of spatial-frequency channels.
