Bio

Laurie Goulet completed her PhD in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience at McGill University in 2026 after receiving her B.A. in Psychology from McGill in 2019. Her research combines psychophysics and functional MRI to better understand how the human brain processes visual information, with a particular focus on amblyopia and the neural mechanisms underlying perceptual distortions. Her work investigates how abnormalities in the early visual cortex contribute to altered visual perception and develops novel neuroimaging approaches for quantifying cortical function. More broadly, she is passionate about translational neuroscience and bridging fundamental research with clinical applications and innovation to help bring scientific discoveries closer to patient care.
